About Michelle Dhanoa
Hey there, yogi! I'm Michelle, your friendly wellness guide, based in the DMV. I've been on a wild yoga teaching journey since 2021, and it's been quite an adventure. Over the past 15 years, I've been diving deep into movement, self-discovery, and healing.
Why am I here? Well, I've walked an interesting path. After beating melanoma and caring for my dad, a juvenile diabetic who passed away in 2018, I realized the power of yoga and mindfulness to navigate life's ups and downs.
My teaching style is a mix of everything – vinyasa, hatha, yin, restorative, somatic yoga, pranayama, and sound healing. I am a RYT® 500, RPYT® and I even have 610 hours of continuing education under my belt, covering everything from mindfulness to trauma-informed yoga. I offer a variety of yoga classes to suit all levels of experience. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned practitioner, I have a class for you. I also offer private lessons and workshops. My classes range from sweaty vinyasa to soothing restorative yoga to help you find balance.
I believe that yoga is for everyone, and I invite you to explore my classes and find a class that is right for you. I believe yoga isn't just about poses; it's about applying those skills to everyday life. Let's work together to build awareness, make conscious choices, and be kinder to ourselves and others.
My goal is to help you connect with your true self. We'll use visualization, breathwork, and functional yoga mobility to address the underlying factors affecting your well-being. Together, we'll move from autopilot to a more intentional way of living. I am passionate about helping people find peace and happiness through yoga. I believe that yoga is a powerful tool for transforming our lives, both physically and mentally.
When I'm not teaching, you can find me exploring nature, traveling, and learning new things. Let's embark on this wellness journey together!

Why I Love Teaching Yoga
Over time we lose the easygoing attitude of our young selves, and through a lighthearted approach, I aim to bring my students back to that joyful playfulness. I am always learning new things, and I am excited to share my knowledge and passion for yoga with anyone willing to listen.
What to Expect in My Classes
My classes are welcoming and inclusive. I encourage my students to listen to their bodies and to modify the poses as needed. I also encourage everyone to have fun and enjoy the process.
In my classes, you can expect to:
Learn the basics of yoga poses and breathing techniques
Build strength, flexibility, and balance
Reduce stress and anxiety
Improve your overall well-being
.
I call myself an amazing yogini, not because I am amazing at yoga poses. I am an amazing yogini because I welcome all in my classes without judgment. I adapt my classes to the environment in the present moment. My cues are not perfect and I am not trying to perfect a headstand or chin stand. I accept myself without judgment and welcome all to just be in my classes.
I am aware that there is a lot of pressure to be perfect within the yoga community. I see it on social media all the time. But I believe that yoga is about self-acceptance, not perfection. It is about learning to love and accept yourself, just as you are.
In my classes, I create a space where everyone feels welcome and accepted. I encourage my students to listen to their bodies and to modify poses as needed. I don't expect anyone to be perfect. I just want them to show up and do their best.
I believe that yoga is for everyone. It doesn't matter how old you are, what your body type is, or how flexible you are. All that matters is that you are willing to show up and try.
If you are looking for a yoga class where you will feel welcome and accepted, please come and join me. I would love to have you in my class.
P.S. If you are seeing yoga posts on social media that make you feel inadequate, please remember that those posts are often curated to present a perfect image. They don't show the reality of what it's like to practice yoga on a daily basis. Don't compare yourself to the people you see on social media. Just focus on your own practice and on your own journey.
You're a beautiful being, and Amazing Yogini is all about helping clients bring together both mind and body. Starting your yoga journey is a great way to improve flexibility, reduce stress, and have fun! Amazing Yogini focuses on mindfulness and bringing awareness to the benefits of yoga to everyone. I welcome you to start your journey to a happier and healthy way of living!
